Tri-County Grow Your Own Healthcare Initiative

MHCH hosted a session in Chamberlain, South Dakota on December 8th, 2009 focused on exploring Health Care Educational Opportunities for the tri-county area of Brule, Buffalo, and Lyman counties. Attendees included Chamberlain ISD, Sanford Health, Sanford Mid-Dakota, Avera Health, Yankton Rural Health Learning Center, Fort Thompson Indian Health Services, Lower Brule Community College and Lake Francis Case Economic Development Corporation.

This session should mark the beginning of a collaborative effort resulting in programs that will help to address important challenges in the tri-county area such as health care workforce shortages, underemployment, access to professional advancement opportunities, and economic development.
