Global Rural Nursing Exchange Network [GRNEN]

MHCH has partnered with universities around the globe to create a community focused on the role nurses play in rural healthcare. The GRNEN provides virtual networking and learning opportunities for rural nursing researchers, educators, and students.

Global Rural Nursing Virtual Collaboration Learning Grant

MHCH awards classroom grant opportunities for universities who desire to partner internationally while nursing students collaborate on rural community health projects.

Prairie Futures

The Prairie Futures initiative was developed to harness the energy of key healthcare and educational partners to provide post-secondary nursing education close to home for people living in rural South Dakota with plans to stay and work in those communities.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute [OLLI]

In partnership with the South Dakota Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), MHCH made programming available to rural communities consisted of short-term, non-credit classes, and learning opportunities for adults.

Rural Nursing Organization [RNO]

MHCH has partnered with the RNO over the past decade to host the International Rural Conference to Rapid City, SD, and provide support to the organization as they bring this important conference to other parts of the country.

Rural Health Care Early Scholars Program

Through a partnership with the University of South Dakota, this program addressed healthcare workforce shortages in rural areas by providing top achieving rural high school students with the opportunity to explore Health Science related careers while completing both high school and college credits.

Economic Mobility Pathways [EMPath]

Our partnership with the Economic Mobility Pathways provided coaching for low-income individuals in rural South Dakota so they might have a roadmap to help reach economic independence. EMPath takes a holistic approach which guides each person in health, family life, career, finances, and education.
